About Atlantic Foods
After assessing the seafood market in central South Africa during the mid - nineties, Atlantic Seafood Distributors, or A.S.D as they were previously known, decided to move its operation from Cape Town to Kimberley. This move, according to the managing director, Mr. Shukri Darries, led to unprecedented expansion in operations. “We filled a void in the market by bringing fish and seafood products to a region of the country, where besides being scarce and expensive; they were also not a very good quality. The majority of our suppliers are small to medium coastal based companies and fish processors' where we load on a weekly basis, thus ensuring excellent prices and a continual supply of fresh products".
In 1999 the basket of products offered by the company expanded to include poultry products, cold meats, frozen veggies, pastries and cheese. It was at this time that the name "Atlantic Foods" was adopted to reflect the variety of products that were now on offer. After almost 15 years in the frozen foods business and 10 years in Kimberley, the company now delivers on a weekly basis to over 60 towns and centres in the central South African provinces of Northern Cape, North West and Free State.
We also deliver on a bi-monthly basis to Gauteng province, South Africa’s economic hub.
During 2005 the company's head office was setup in Cape Town to ensure efficient supply and quality of stock being sent to the Kimberley distribution centre. This, also in an effort to counter rising cost of fish and seafood.
What We Do
Atlantic Foods provides a variety of frozen and chilled products to its customers through the most convenient and reliable channels. From our Distribution Centre in Kimberley, Northern Cape, we procure customer orders through our telesales network and deliver with our fleet of refrigerated trucks on a weekly basis, to these customers. Our products includes, Fish & Seafood, Poultry, Coldmeats, Frozen Veggies, Pastries, and other related products
Factory Shop
This is the company's cash sales section. It is open to the public for retail home purchases of all our products. We also have a bulk counter where the public can buy box lots of stock at reduced prices.
